E - bikes are fully eligible for the Cycle to Work scheme, and you can get one through DASH paid for out of your pre-tax salary. This includes electric road, gravel, mountain, hybrid, city, folding and cargo bikes, with savings of between 28% and 47%.
There is not a £1,000 limit on e-bikes through DASH, because DASH is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority in its own right (FCA No. 926301). The old £1,000 cap means most providers cannot offer higher-value e-bikes. Through DASH you can get an e-bike at any price, including models well over £5,000.
E-bike savings with DASH are between 28% and 47% of the price, depending on your tax band, because you pay from your pre-tax salary and reduce your income tax and National Insurance. On a £3,500 e-bike, that is a saving of around £980 for a basic-rate taxpayer and up to roughly £1,645 at the highest tax band. With partner deals and sale prices, the combined savings can reach up to 80%.
In the UK you do not need a licence, road tax or insurance to ride a standard electric bike, known as an EAPC. To qualify, the bike must have a motor of up to 250 watts, power assistance that cuts out at 15.5mph, and the rider must be at least 14 years old. Standard commuter e-bikes meet these rules and can be ridden just like a normal bike.
DASH offers every type of e-bike on the Cycle to Work scheme, including electric road, gravel, mountain, hybrid, city, folding and cargo bikes. Whether you want a lightweight commuter, a folding e-bike for the train or an electric cargo bike for the school run, you can get it through DASH.
DASH offers e-bikes from all the major brands, including Specialized, Giant, Brompton, Cube, Pinarello, VanMoof, Tern and Super73, as part of the UK's largest cycling catalogue. If a model you want is not listed, you can request it and DASH will make it available.
Electric cargo bikes are available through DASH on the Cycle to Work scheme, including models from brands such as Tern and Urban Arrow. They are a popular choice for carrying children or shopping, and because DASH has no £1,000 spending limit you can get a full-size electric cargo bike and pay for it from your pre-tax salary.
